About the Facilitators

We are Ayelet Shilgy and Supriya Thimmiah — two women in our own menopause journeys, each shaped by years of inner work, healing, and spiritual exploration. We’ve come together with a shared vision: to create a safe and empowering space where women can navigate this stage of life with greater ease, strength, and clarity.Drawing from Iyengar Yoga, mental and emotional wellness tools, and our own lived experiences, we offer a retreat designed to reconnect you with your body, breath, and inner direction. We hold this space not as distant teachers, but as fellow travelers — here to guide, listen, and walk beside you.We believe menopause is not an ending, but a powerful turning point — a time to slow down, reflect, and step more fully into who you are becoming.

Ayelet Shilgy

Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (RIMYI, Pune)

Ayelet is a dedicated Iyengar Yoga teacher with over 20 years of personal practice and more than a decade of teaching experience, primarily working with women navigating menopause and midlife transitions. Originally from Israel, her yoga journey began in Dharamshala in 2003 — a moment that led her to make India her home and found Mountain View Yoga Studio in Dharamshala. She continues to study with senior Iyengar teachers worldwide.

Her yoga practice started as a way to ease chronic back and shoulder pain caused by long hours at a desk, but it evolved into a profound path of transformation. Ayelet is deeply inspired by the positive changes she facilitates in her students' lives. She teaches heartfully, offering individual attention, correcting, and motivating students to deepen their practice with precision, joy, and compassion.

In this menopause retreat, Ayelet will guide you through carefully tailored asana and pranayama practices designed specifically to soothe menopausal symptoms, build strength, improve flexibility, and balance the nervous system. Drawing on her extensive experience with women in menopause, she creates a safe and nurturing space where you can reconnect with your changing body and cultivate resilience — both physical and emotional — on your unique journey.

With over 30 years experience in the mental health field, Supriya Thimmiah, who is a Certified Trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnotherapy, and Time Line Therapy®, realised the transformative power of these modalities firsthand while navigating her own menopause journey. Having found these tools invaluable for managing the physical, emotional, and mental shifts of menopause, Supriya is now excited and committed to sharing them with other women. She specializes in empowering those who are either preparing for, or currently journeying through, this powerful and often misunderstood transitional time.

Supriya's training approach is both empathetic and practical. She equips women with:

  • NLP techniques to reframe perspectives on menopause, change habits that no longer serve us, enhance self-communication, and build resilience.

  • Hypnotherapy strategies to potentially alleviate common symptoms, reduce stress, improve sleep, and foster a positive self-image during this change.

  • Time Line Therapy® processes to release past negative emotions or limiting beliefs that may surface or intensify during menopause, allowing for a more peaceful and harmonious experience.

In this retreat Supriya will be offering a unique blend of extensive professional expertise and genuine, lived understanding and experience. She is dedicated to helping women harness the power of their own minds to navigate menopause not just as a challenge to be endured, but as a transformative period of growth and empowerment.

About the methods

Iyengar Yoga

“Action is movement with intelligence. The world is filled with movement. What the world needs is more conscious movement, more action.” – B.K.S. Iyengar

Considered by many to be “the father of modern yoga”, B.K.S. Iyengar developed his innovative and inspired approach to yoga through intense practice and self-study. His famous book, Light on Yoga, has been continuously in print since originally published in 1966.

Structured towards gradual and steady progress rather than quick and fleeting results, each class is a unique sequence developed by our Iyengar certified teacher, to guide students through a safe and systematic progression.

“With a woman’s life expectancy at eighty-four years, it is reasonable to expect that she will not only live thirty to forty years beyond menopause, but be vibrant, sharp, and influential as well.”
